Helping our self-isolating neighbours

We’re trialling a new programme to help out our neighbours who are self-isolating - either after travelling overseas, or because they are feeling unwell.

The general idea is that Massey locals who are well and have spare time can opt to help run errands, pick up supplies or otherwise keep in touch with neighbours who are self-isolating and can’t leave the house.

If you are self-isolating, or would like to volunteer your time to help someone who is, fill in the form below and we will help you connect with each other (by phone or email).

For people who are self-isolating

If you can’t leave your home, and need a hand, select the “I’m self-isolating and would like some help” option on the form. Then fill in your address, and specify the type of help you’d like - this could be assistance with picking up groceries, securing urgent supplies, posting mail or running other errands, or just a friendly phone call to check-in.

Please note, Massey Matters and any neighbour that we connect you with is unable to provide any financial assistance. All groceries or other supplies that you dropped off must be ordered and paid for in advance.

Once we have your details, we will connect you with a neighbour by phone or email. You will be able to discuss specific arrangements with them directly.

For those who would like to help

If you are healthy, have not been overseas recently, and would like to volunteer to help our self-isolating neighbours out, fill in your details in the form below.

Select the “I’d like to help out someone who is self-isolating” option, then fill in your contact details.

Once we have these details we will put you in touch with a self-isolating neighbour by phone or email. You can then discuss specific arrangements with them directly.

Spreading kindness only

Be sure to take precautions to ensure that we only spread kindness. Maintain a safe physical distance (2 meters) and leave items on door-steps. Wash your hands frequently and follow advice from the Ministry of Health at all times.
