2017 Youth Week Selfie Expo
This year we were lucky enough to be given some funding to run a youth event in the Massey community. We wanted the event to inspire our youth to come together, make new friends, explore their leadership capabilities, and find their voice. Through the power of food, we were able to find 11 amazing and talented young people who committed to dreaming up and running the 2017 Youth Voice Selfie Expo.
Over the ten weeks leading up to the event we put our 11 developing leaders through a variety of games and activities to inspire them to speak up and work together. Alongside this, they were also in charge of doing marking, video editing and everything else involved with planning an event.
On June 2nd their event came to life and we welcomed our community to the Massey Community House to showcase their work. It was a fun night filled with live music, yummy food and awesome selfies.
Huge thank you to Henderson Massey Local Board for giving us the funding and also to Tegel for donating all the food.
Mostly, thanks to our 11 awesome youth who worked together to create something magical.
