Make an Easter Bunny with Debbie

Easter is coming up and we’re getting into the spirit by using some old fabric and a healthy dose of creativity to make something super-cute to mark the holiday.

Massey Matters team member Debbie has developed a sure-fire technique for creating your own lovable stuffed Bunny, using common items found around the home.

You’ll need:

  • Scissors

  • Pins

  • Needles

  • Sewing Machine (if you do not have a sewing machine the bunny can be sewn by hand)

  • Thread (dental floss or fine fishing line nylon are great substitutes)

  • A Chopstick

  • Fabric or Felt. You can also upcycle a piece of clothing or another item such as an old tablecloth

  • Stuffing (if you do not have toy stuffing and you have an old pillow or cushion this will have stuffing inside it that will be suitable)

  • Small amount of rice

  • Buttons for eyes (you could just draw on the eyes and nose)

  • Something to embellish your bunny - this could be a small bracelet, a beaded necklace, ribbon, or create your own from what you have at home

Copy the template from the pic below onto a piece of A4 paper, and check out Debbie’s video for a step-by-step guide.

Happy crafting!
